For Missional Monday this week we turn our attention to the latest deadly wildfires in California. These fires have pretty much destroyed entire towns and killed at least 29 people. At one point the fires were consuming 8 football fields per MINUTE. Many people, including fellow United Methodists, have been affected. UMCOR is responding to the area, as they have been since the destructive fires earlier this year. Visit UMCOR.org if you are interested in helping these efforts, and please keep all involved in your prayers.

Becky Mecham will be bringing us the message this coming weekend as Pastor Gary continues his renewal leave. Here are some thoughts that she would like to share with you as she invites you to worship with us this weekend:

“If there is a loving God who desires the best for all, why are we complaining so much?
When we complain about our lives or anything in God’s world, we are denying the truth that all of God’s creation is inherently good.
When we stop complaining about what’s missing in our lives and use our words to praise what is present, we feel the transcendent splendor of oneness with God and so do those around us!

Thank you for worshipping with us at CUMC today. We’d like to leave you with a few photos of the Veterans Flags that we hang in our sanctuary (thanks to Mark and Amy Miller for hanging them) during the month of November. May the example set by these men and women inspire us to new heights as we seek to serve God and neighbor. Have a great week!

A little about who we are...
